District Missionary & Assistant Supervisor Wisconsin Third Jurisdiction
Friday Night Anointing Service Speaker
Evangelist Betty Diane (Honey) Russell was born April 27, 1958 to Mr. and Mrs. David (Ella) Willis. She was the third of five children nurtured from this union. However sadly, in 1961 before Evangelist Russell’s tender life had began to take shape, her dad passed away. As a child she faced many gloomy challenges, but with the help of the Lord, Evangelist Russell faced them and prevailed. These encounters helped mold Mother Russell to be the strong woman she is today.
Mother Russell received her former education from the Milwaukee Public School System, graduating from Custer High School in 1975. She went on to complete her Bachelors of Science in Physical Education in May of 1986 & attained her second Bachelors degree in Community Education in May of 1999 both from UW-Milwaukee. In May 2007 she completed her Master’s degree in leadership Education from Carthage College. While in high school and college Evangelist Russell competed in a wide variety of sports events, such as gymnastics, volleyball, tennis, track & field and finally basketball, which was her true love.
Evangelist Russell accepted Christ in her life at the age of 14 and her belief in worshipping God was a main priority with her. She vigorously served the Lord in her home Church of Williams Temple where she served as the co-president of the Youth Department, singing & directing in the choir and servicing as the Sunday school teacher for the children class.
In October of 1980, Evangelist Russell fell in love with a long time acquaints Lincoln Earl Russell (who now serves as the superintendent of the Bread of Life District) and on March 14th 1981 the Lord blessed them to marry. From this union four children were born (3 sons & a daughter). As of the date of this bio they have been married for more then 36 years.
In May of 1992, Evangelist Russell co-founded with her husband the Little Community Church Of God In Christ. In 2003, she was appointed District Missionary of the Golden Gate District where she served faithfully until 2011. In 2011 until the present, she is blessed to be serving with her husband as District Missionary of the Bread of Life District. God blessed and choose to elevate Mother Russell to a higher level of service, so in January of 2015, she was appointed as Assistant Jurisdictional Supervisor of Wisconsin Third working closely with our Jurisdictional Supervisor, Mother Artaska King.
Evangelist Betty Diane Russell truly enjoys her life with her loving husband, children and grandchildren. She loves working for the Lord and very much wants to do His will. She knows full well the scripture that states “I must work while it is day, for the night cometh, when no man can work.”
